Winter may be approaching, but the scenery remains spectacular throughout Amador County.
All routes begin in Ione, traverse Old Stockton and Jackson Valley Roads to Buena Vista and
climb Stony Creek Road. The short ride goes to Martel, Sutter Creek before returning to
Ione via Sutter-Ione Road; the medium route goes to Jackson, Clinton via Clinton and Butte
Mountain Roads, Pine Grove via Irish Town Road, Volcano via Pine Grove Volcano Road, Sutter
Creek via Sutter Creek-Volcano Road, and Ione via Sutter-Ione Road; the long route continues
from Volcano, climbs Rams Horn grade, proceeds to Fiddletown and Mount Aukum, then goes to
Plymouth via the Shenandoah Valley before heading back to Ione. Rain or Threat of Rain Cancels

tough loops, but easier options each day. Day 1: The ride starts at 10:00 am.
Sutter Creek, Plymouth, Charleston, Volcano, and Tabeau. Day 2: Drive to San
Andreas on Hwy 49, left on Mtn. Ranch and park at Calaveras County Offices;
ride starts at 9:30 am. Mtn. Ranch, Sheep Ranch, Murphy¹s, Calaveras. Day 3:
Check out of motel at 9:30 AM, and bike to Jesus Maria, Mokelumne, West Point,
Pine Grove, Clinton, back to Jackson, drive home.

Choose a ride from 5 related easy, flat routes with very little
traffic, heading West along the American River Parkway Bike Trail to
the Davis In-N-Out Burger, and return. Or, choose a ride from 6
related Sierra Foothills routes heading East. One route has 6,250
foot climb, 4 routes circumnavigate Folsom Lake counter clockwise, 2
circumvent the canyon, 5 go to the Auburn In-N-Out Burger, and all
return.
