TAM SLAM
8:00 AM
San Francisco
Parking lot at the Legiion of Honor,
near 34th & Clement Dr.

We’re nearing the end of the cycling season and you’ve never been in such good shape, right? Then now’s the time to do the Tam Slam – a beautiful 75-mile route taking in some of the best scenery and climbing that San Francisco and Marin have to offer. We’ll start at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, ride through Sea Cliff and the Presidio, then across the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County, passing through Sausalito, Mill Valley, around the Tiburon Peninsula, into Larkspur and west to Fairfax. From there we’ll head up Mt. Tam – the views on the way up are so pretty you won’t even notice the climb! After a rest at the top, we’ll descend down to Mill Valley and back to San Francisco. Weather is usually cool at this time of year, so bring layers since it could be foggy in the morning, and clear later or that famous fog could show up at any time! Stores and water are available on the route and we’ll stop for lunch – probably in Fairfax. Elev –appx. 5,000. Rain cancels. Call or e-mail if you have any questions or need directions.
