We start with a train ride (5:25 AM) to Santa Clara, and then begin a moderate/easy 50-mile, 2800+ ft. climb over Saratoga Gap and thru the woods down into Santa Cruz. The second day has several options. Go north to enjoy the mild mannered but beautiful Ice Cream Grade, Pine Flat, Bonnie Doon, lunch in Davenport, return down the coast. Or go south, thru the hills then over to the coast for lunch at Phil’s and back along the coast. Or, just stay along the coast and hang out when and where you please. Thursday we’ll ride back over Mt. Charlie, lunch in Los Gatos, then on to San Jose Amtrak to Sacramento. This ride is sagged.
